TOPICS:  “On Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, a federal judge said that Southwest Virginia landowners united to sue gas companies over coalbed methane royalties could do so as a group. The ruling is a pivotal decision in a set of lawsuits on the issue, the first of which was filed in 2010, about six months after the Bristol Herald Courier profiled the growing dispute over dividing up the spoils of coalbed methane production.” Read more at the Bristol Herald Courier.
