GUEST: Dave Norris, former Mayor of the City of Charlottesville and a member of City Council.

TOPICS: Shortly before the conclusion of the most recent City Council meeting (Monday August 19), Dave Norris expressed his interest in a new City ordinance that would “recognize legal same-sex marriages performed in other states and extend benefits to legally married same-sex partners who work for the city” — similar to an ordinance recently proposed in Richmond, Virginia. Dave joined the program to discuss the idea and shared the reaction he got from fellow Councilors. He also talked with Coy (@4:10)  about the continued evolution of Charlottesville’s historic West Main Street, that is currently the site of a number of new development projects.
