FCC & Internet

GUEST: Christopher Ali is a Professor of Media Studies at the University of Virginia.

TOPIC: In just a few weeks the FCC is expected to finally announce its long-anticipated decision in the net neutrality debate. Will corporate giants like Comcast and Time-Warner benet-neutrality permitted to block certain sites at will, to speed up or slow down other sites? Will they change the internet to look more like cable TV, with email and Google in the lower tier and Facebook and Netflix in the most expensive tier? The Internet could be about to change into something completely different from what we’ve all come to know. Professor Ali joins Coy to discuss this historic debate, the role of the FCC, and the fate of the Internet.
