“Great Things Are Expected”

Host Coy Barefoot takes a few moments on this day to remember another 9-11 in American history: September 11, 1777, when General Washington and his troops fell to the British while trying to defend Philadelphia in the Battle of Brandywine.

He shares the story of Captain John Chilton, who led the Third Virginia Regiment during the Revolution, and though wounded and dying, refused to be pulled from the battlefield so that he could remain there in the fight to inspire his men.

What makes the story of John Chilton a personal one for Coy and his family? Listen and find out why.
